Kickstart Arts Community Kitchen

The Kickstart Arts Community Kitchen opened in 2023 to help migrants and refugees find social connection, training and work, and to give them a space to share their food, culture and stories. Every Friday the public are invited to enjoy lunch, coffee and cakes in the Old School Room.
Thanks to a new grant, Kickstart Arts are launching Shared Plates, Shared Stories, a program that invites primary school children to engage in art, food and storytelling with migrants and refugees.
In a time of growing social divide, sharing a meal and learning about different cultures can help build community and social cohesion.
